I’m Maria Teresa, and I design cross-stitch charts in the spirit of old American samplers and folk art: simple houses, proud black cats, tulips, stars and hearts. Most of my designs are made to be finished into something you can hold and use, like a drum, a pincushion or a small pillow, and every chart comes with my finishing instructions.

Black Manor Cat
Pincushion drum
An old manor house stands quietly on the linen, and beside it sits its keeper: a proud black cat. Folk tulips and stars bloom all around them, in the spirit of early American needlework.
Black Manor Cat is stitched on my 32 ct Bisquit Linen, which I hand-dye myself, and finished as a pincushion drum with its own coordinating cotton fabric, which I designed and had printed in the USA. Step-by-step drum finishing instructions are included in the chart.
