Who I am

This website, www.mtvdesigns.com, belongs to MTVDesigns, the cross stitch design business of Maria Teresa Vitali, based in Italy. I am the data controller for the personal data collected here. MTVDesigns, Italy. Partita IVA (VAT number): IT08432071002.

What data I collect and why

  • Orders (Order form): name, email, shipping address and country, and what you order. I use them to reply with your total, send the payment link, ship your order and keep the accounting records required by Italian law. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legal obligation.
  • Messages (Contact form or email): name, email and your message, only to answer you. Legal basis: your request and my legitimate interest in replying.
  • Shop (wholesale) requests: shop name, contact person, email, address and order details, to send line sheets, invoices and orders. Legal basis: pre-contractual steps and contract.
  • Newsletters: your email (and name if you give it), only if you subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email. Legal basis: your consent.
  • Website use: like every website, the server records technical data such as IP address, browser and pages visited, for security and to keep the site working. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Services I use

To run the website and my small business I rely on a few trusted services. They handle your data only to provide their service to me:

  • Aruba S.p.A. (Italy): website hosting.
  • Contact Form 7: the forms on this site. Messages are sent to my email inbox.
  • Jotform: some of my forms are hosted by Jotform, which stores the answers you send.
  • Google reCAPTCHA (Google): protects the forms from spam. It checks how the page is used and may set cookies. Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Akismet (Automattic): filters spam sent through the forms.
  • MailPoet: the newsletter sign-up form and newsletter for stitchers.
  • Mailchimp (Intuit): the newsletter for shops.
  • Jetpack (Automattic): website statistics, security, faster image delivery and the share buttons.
  • PayPal, Wise and Revolut: payments. When you pay, you give your payment details directly to them, not to me.
  • Postal and courier services: your name and address go on the parcel so I can ship your order.

Some of these services are based in the United States. In those cases your data is protected by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. I never sell your data or share it for advertising.

Cookies

This site uses technical cookies needed for it to work, and cookies set by Google reCAPTCHA and Jetpack statistics. I do not use advertising or profiling cookies. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

How long I keep your data

  • Orders and invoices: 10 years, as required by Italian tax law.
  • Messages: as long as needed to answer you, and no longer than 2 years.
  • Newsletters: until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask me to see, correct or delete your data, to limit or object to its use, and to receive a copy of it. If you gave consent (for example to a newsletter), you can withdraw it at any time. Just write to info@mtvdesigns.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 14, and I do not knowingly collect their data.

I may update this policy when something changes. The date below shows the latest version.
